Traveling...

We left Chapel UMC at just after 7AM on Friday March 30th. We loaded our gear into the trailer and set off in the two vans pointed south.
We traveled south into Virginia before stopping at the Pink Cadillac Diner for lunch.
We had fellowship with some of other diners and filled our bellies before getting back on the road to head into Tennessee.

On the way out, we noticed some changes in the outside decor of the diner....
On our trip into Tennessee we had very good weather, allowing us to travel safely and without any incidents or major delays.

We finished our Friday travels in Knoxville at 2nd UMC. They graciously allowed us to stay in their parish hall and use their facilities for the evening.

Saturday we rose bright and early and were on the road by 6:30AM. We traveled again through the day with out incident or major delay, allowing us to arrive in at Camp Love at about 4:30PM. Sunday we will go on our day trip for some fun before starting to work on our projects.

Tomorrow...Tomorrow...we leave here Tomorrow.

Everyone is excited ! We will leave at 7 am and drive for about 12 hrs before we layover for the night and head out again Saturday morning with hopes of arriving at Camp Love by 5:30pm.
This year we will be joined by a team of 12 from California of which 6 are under 17years old. I also think the other 6 may be all  females. The guys may be out numbered on this trip. The plan is that we will all work together on our jobs next week.
I just received an email from camp and it looks like we will be going to 3 different job locations and I saw lots of painting on the list..... guess what those kids will be doing? Wonder if they are reading this blog, maybe they will change their minds if they know they are painting. Actually we are looking forward to having some youngins hanging out with us.There will be a variety of different jobs like installing baseboard & trim, Installing Hardi panel siding, caulking, drywall, etc. So these kids will have a choice of jobs to experience.
The CA team will arrive Saturday as well except by "air", and meet us at camp after driving only 1 hr.  Our drive is 19 hrs and about 1100 miles.....wish I was traveling by air too.
Keep our team in prayer for safe traveling and good health. The weather next week should be in the high 70's....I'm ready for warm weather.
Check back for updates of our work week & you might even see some New Orleans photos from our trip there this Sunday.
